Joseph L. Winn

Mr. Winn, previous Chair of the Babson College Board of Trustees from 2011 to 2017, is a consultant for emerging businesses in the areas of strategy and financial planning. He formerly served as vice chairman of American Tower Corporation (NYSE:AMT) from 2001 to 2004, and was chief financial officer of AMT from the company’s inception in 1995 until 2001. Prior to AMT, he was a co-founder, chief financial officer, and director of American Radio Systems Corporation. He also was president of Atlantic Radio Corporation and senior vice president of American Cablesystems Corporation (NYSE:AFM). He is a director of One Pin Inc. and Two Bolt Inc. He served on Babson’s Board of Trustees from 2001 to 2010, he was a Member and Chairman of the Investment and Finance Committees, and was a Member of Audit, Executive, Graduate, and Executive Education Committees. He served on the IT Task Force, and the Endowment Returns & Spending Task Force. He was a Member of the Presidential Search Committee 2008, Vice Chair of the MBA 50th Campaign, Alumni Career Volunteer, Fast Track MBA Volunteer, Business Plan Evaluator, Member of President’s Society, Roger Babson Circle, and Entrepreneurs Circle Gift Clubs. He earned his BS from Boston College in 1973 and his MBA from Babson in 1974.
