Francy Milner serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for Education on Social Responsibility (CESR) at the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business.  In her previous role as an Instructor at Leeds, Francy helped create the required junior course, Business Applications of Social Responsibility.  She developed and taught two electives for the CESR program: an MBA class in Social Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets and a senior seminar in Business Solutions for the Developing World: Learning through Service.  The senior seminar was recognized by Ashoka, the premier global organization for social entrepreneurship, as an example of best practices in the field of social entrepreneurship education.

Francy has engaged in social entrepreneurship education and projects across campus.  She designed and led a cross-disciplinary team of instructors in teaching an Arts and Sciences core course in Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability at the Residential Academic Program (RAP) in Sustainability and Social Innovation at the University of Colorado. In 2015 the RAP program received an Ashoka U-Cordes Innovation Award.  Francy also taught a graduate social entrepreneurship course in the Information Communication Technology for Development (ICTD) program at the Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society Institute (ATLAS) at the University of Colorado.

As a member of the university’s Executive Committee on Social Entrepreneurship for Equitable Development and Sustainability (SEEDS), Francy has worked with faculty and students across campus to promote social entrepreneurship.  In 2015 SEEDS received an Entrepreneurship Initiative Seed award to carry out an inter-disciplinary project designed to jump-start student innovation to solve complex social and environmental problems.

Before she began her university teaching career, Francy was Assistant General Counsel for Legal Compliance at Coors Brewing Company where she had responsibility for the company’s compliance program and assisted the Corporate Secretary and Chief Legal Officer in matters of corporate governance.  After leaving Coors, she provided consulting services on corporate ethics and compliance programs and corporate governance through The Milner Law Firm, LLC.

Francy is fluent in Spanish and is a member of the board of directors of Friendship Bridge, a non-profit organization that empowers impoverished Guatemalan women to create a better future for themselves, their children and their communities through microfinance and education. She has also served on the boards of directors of other two non-profit organizations, The Conflict Center and the Colorado Judicial Institute. Through her local and international, professional and community service, extensive multicultural experience and foreign language education and fluency (Spanish and French), Ms. Milner brings both domestic and global perspectives to her work.
